Bum in the Mud Rally, April 2012, Mersea
Island.
This photo was taken at the Bum in the Mud rally on Mersea Island,
near Colchester on Sunday 22nd April and shows Bryan, Mike, Tony,
Jan, Mary and Anne.
As the Fosse Riders, were there helping out the rally organisers by
marshaling on the Gate, patrolling the campsite and helping with the
booking in.
The weather was fine for most of the time with only the odd hail storm
and heavy shower of rain. Site conditions were a bit boggy but the
brand new toilet and shower blocks were first class.
Entertainment Friday and Saturday was in two places and both undercover.
Plenty of trade stands to wander around during the day and the mobile
caterers were doing a roaring trade.
Breakfasts and evening meals were provided on site in the canteen
and were massive and made up from a variety of food and it was beautifully
prepared (the two don't normally go hand in hand!!).
Because club members worked over the weekend we got into the rally
for free (normally £20) and we were able to sleep in a lovely heated
wooden chalet which was much appreciated.
