Riders Stories

National Road Rally - 2011

Bryan Kipling

Once again the Fosse Riders MCA club house was a check point for the National Road Rally. As in the past the club not only checked in riders but also provided drinks, food, a welcome rest stop and if needed a bed for riders carrying on though the night. There was a steady flow of riders through the day and night with 200+ checking in and 2 riders finishing at the club house as they were only doing the day run.

Bikes ranged from classic to modern, 2 wheel, bike and side car and one three wheel (Car style/open). The weather was good, no rain with it being warm through the night. Club members did a great job setting up road signs, checking in riders, serving behind the bar and marshalling riders from the road into the club house. Some marshals were very enthusiastic directing a rider into the club house who was not in the rally. The rider after talking to club members offered to put up an extra sign on the A47 roundabout on his way home and would be back in the future to join.

Two club members Tracy and Andy again entered the rally, do not know their story yet, but well done.
